So what's your gripe with Tim Tebow?

I watched Tim Tebow of the Denver Borncos win his sixth game in a row - his seventh in the last eight games - this past Sunday as he and the Broncos beat the Chicago Bears.  This was the eighth game in a row that he was supposed to lose.

For the most part, the media hates this guy.  Yeah, I said it - they hate him!  Why?  I don't know...you tell me.  Is it jealousy?  He's a pretty handsome guy, I'll admit.  Is it because he's too nice?  Have you ever heard him say a bad thing about anybody or anything?  Is it because he's not the prototypical quarterback?  We've heard it all: his throwing motion is bad, he's inaccurate, he's not good at reading defenses, etc.  Is it because he thinks he's deserving of recognition?  I've never heard him take credit for doing anything good or for winning, but have heard him state in EVERY interview how his team makes him better, his team is the reason they win, his defense keeps them in the game, and praises his coaches and even the fans.  Or is it because he's Christian and not ashamed of it?  Make no mistake - he's proud of his relationship with God.

My own hunch is that he makes people look at themselves in an uncomfortable and unflattering light.  Take the talk of God and Jesus out of the equation and you're still left with an All-American athlete who is a great, humble guy who doesn't expect anything he hasn't worked for, and who is extremely grateful for all he has.  Here's a list of people who are most likely Tebow destractors:
  • The "I did that" player/athlete.  You know the ones.  The offensive line does an amazing job blocking for the quarterback, the quarterback escapes five defensive players and makes a miraculous sixty-five yard touchdown throw before being hammered, and the little wide receiver who was wide open sixty-five yards downfield because of blown coverage and the safeties running into each other and falling down, runs into the endzone and dances for ten minutes hitting himself in the chest yelling "I DID THAT".  Yeah, he's not a Tebow fan.
  • The "pay me" player/athlete.  This is the guy who loves the game and competitive nature of football...as long as he's getting paid at least as much as some chump on another team getting paid big bucks to do the same thing.  These guys can't stand Tebow because Tebow has a true love for the game that is not driven by how much money he makes.  Tebow would play football for free if someone offered to pay his bills for him!
  • The "playa".  Not the "playER".  This is self explanatory.
  • The lier/cheater.  Sure, no one wants to admit this is them (a lie), but Tebow is so ethically sound that I'd be surprised if an overdue library book didn't give him an ulcer until it was returned!  And can you imagine Tebow stealing cable or making an unethical business deal?  No.
There are many more groups of individuals who don't like Tebow, but these are the obvious.  When the words "he can't be that nice" or "what's he really hiding" come out of someone's mouth, they have skeletons that Tebow doesn't have.

Now I'm not saying Tim Tebow is perfect.  And I'm sure he's made his share of mistakes and will most likely make many more in life.  But the intended path he walks in life is a straight and humble one that many people can't imagine or even pretend to travel.

Now that I think about it, Barack Obama probably hates Tim Tebow...

Our politicians haven chosen sides...have you?

In order to force the two political parties to work towards a compromise, each side had something near and dear to their hearts put on the chopping block...things worth fighting for to them. The Republicans chose our military and our soldiers to fight for. The Democrats chose welfare and entitlements. Pick a side. I darn sure have...

Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Pentagon got nearly everything it asked for during a decade of two wars shadowed by the Sept. 11 terror attacks and the rise of al-Qaida. No more.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen acknowledged that reality Thursday, saying the military is resigned to budget cuts of around $350 billion over a decade to meet the public clamor for reducing the nation's debt. But they quickly warned that more than doubling those cuts along the lines of the "doomsday mechanism" spelled out in the new debt-limit law would undermine the military.
"If it happened - and, God willing, that would not be the case - but if it did happen, it would result in a further round of very dangerous cuts across the board, defense cuts that I believe would do real damage to our security, our troops and their families, and our military's ability to protect the nation," Panetta told reporters at his first Pentagon news conference.
Mullen, who has said repeatedly that the debt is the greatest national security threat, said any cut on that order "jeopardizes our ability to deal with the other very real and very serious threats we face around the world."
Reflecting the widespread demand for fiscal austerity, the compromise debt deal struck by President Barack Obama and congressional leaders this week will slice $350 billion from projected military spending over the next 10 years, and it leaves open the possibility of more than $500 billion in additional reductions.
Defense spending, which has nearly doubled in the last decade, is no longer untouchable in Washington.
Tea partyers and fierce fiscal conservatives in Congress are more willing to include Pentagon dollars in their mix of budget cuts despite opposition from veteran defense hawks. The death of Osama bin Laden, the diminished role of al-Qaida and the winding down of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have prompted some lawmakers to question the need for such robust military spending.
Among the things that could be on the block: A troubled new jet fighter, expensive plans to modernize the nation's nuclear arsenal and perhaps some of the gold-plated benefits now guaranteed to military retirees.
"I think programs that can't meet schedule, that can't meet cost ... requirements are very much in jeopardy and will be very much under scrutiny," Mullen said.
The prospect of nearly $1 trillion in cuts unnerves military leaders, troubles lawmakers protective of the Pentagon and has touched off a scramble in the defense industry as contractors look to spare their multibillion-dollar weapons programs.
In sounding an alarm, Panetta is pressuring Democrats and Republicans to consider making concessions on their core priorities - entitlement programs such as Medicare and Social Security defended by Democrats, and increases in taxes resisted by Republicans - before taking a sharper knife to defense. The former Democratic congressman and budget chief in the Clinton administration delivered a clear message to leaders of both parties.
"You cannot deal with the size deficits that this country is confronting by simply cutting the discretionary side of the budget," said Panetta. "If you're going to deal with those size deficits, you've got to look at the mandatory side of the budget, which is two-thirds of the federal budget, and you also have to look at revenues as part of that answer."
Just back from a trip to Iraq and Afghanistan, Mullen faced repeated questions from troops worried that their pay and benefits would be cut.
"Our men and women downrange have enough to worry about just getting the job done," Mullen said Thursday. "They shouldn't also be concerned about whether or not they will be paid to do that job, or whether or not their families will continue to get the support they need during long absences."
Sitting side-by-side with Panetta at the Pentagon, Mullen pointed out that the military has a crowded must-do list: wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, support for the NATO-led operation in Libya, disaster relief missions in Haiti and Japan and defense of national interests.
Clearly reflecting the frustration building around the Pentagon and across the military, the defense leaders made it clear that while they will find the nearly $400 billion in initial savings required, that's where they draw the line. Military leaders think they are already carrying their fair share of the cost-cutting burden while still being asked to respond to terrorist threats, nuclear-armed rogue nations and other conflicts.
Defense budgets, not including the costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, have jumped since 9/11, from just over $370 billion in the late 1990s to around $550 billion today. In the political clamor to slash the deficit, Obama this past spring called for $400 billion in defense cuts over 12 years and former Defense Secretary Robert Gates launched a comprehensive review of the military's strategy and capabilities.
That review could be completed by the end of the summer.
Setting the agenda now is the debt-limit deal to cut more than $2 trillion from federal spending over a decade.
In the initial phase, all security spending - money for defense, homeland security, veterans, foreign aid and intelligence - would be cut from the current level of $687 billion this year to $683 billion in next year's budget. Defense would take a share of that $4 billion reduction.
The next step is the unknown that Panetta fears: A 12-member, House-Senate committee must propose up to $1.5 trillion more in government-wide cuts over a decade and do so by Nov. 23. If the committee deadlocks or if Congress rejects its recommendations, the Obama administration would be required to impose automatic, across-the-board spending cuts of up to $1.2 trillion, with half coming from defense.
The budget proposals provide no specifics, but several programs are often mentioned as possible targets.
Ten years in, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, a multibillion-dollar aircraft, has been plagued by cost overruns and delays. The cost of buying more than 2,400 of the next-generation aircraft for the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps has jumped from $233 billion to $385 billion. Recent estimates say the entire program could exceed $1 trillion over 50 years.
Another potential target is the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS), a multinational missile defense program with Italy and Germany. The Pentagon said earlier this year it would not implement the program, though research will continue for another two years at a cost of more than $800 million. Among the other targets are the numbers of ships and submarines the Pentagon buys.
One of the most costly programs for the Defense Department is its health care coverage for some 10 million active duty personnel, retirees, reservists and their families. The cost has jumped from $19 billion in 2001 to $53 billion.
Obama proposed increasing the fees for working-age retirees in the decades-old health program, known as TRICARE, but has encountered resistance from lawmakers and various associations for military retirees.
Debt-limit negotiators looked at changes in the program for possible savings, and the special bipartisan committee is likely to consider the program in its calculations.
Mullen noted that while the Army and Marine Corp have grown over the past 10 years, those numbers will be reduced in the next several years. The Army already is on pace to drop from 570,000 to about 520,000, and the Marines will cut about 15,000 from their current total of about 202,000.

2012 Battleground States!

If you have friends or relatives in any of these "yellow" states, PLEASE begin working on them! Maybe even send them here ( http://thinktownusa.ning.com/ ) so we can respectfully try to give them the truth!

This is the most important election thus far in our lifetime.  We have GOT to begin today to educate prospective voters who may not have their minds made up.  For others - there is no hope.

Revolting pictures of piled-up rubbish give Egyptian capital label of Garbage City

Remember, this is what your president called "democracy". Now it's a dump.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

With mountains of rubbish towering over children and endless bin bags bulging from high-rise flats, these are the shocking images that show Cairo's 'Garbage City' - where thousands of Egyptians live amongst piles of stinking rubbish.

Manshiyat naser, or Garbage city, as it is known by locals, is a slum on the outskirts of Cairo, just a short drive away from luxury five star resorts.
But these shocking photos show a whole community which has been living in the slums for hundreds of years surrounded by rats and rotting rubbish.
Piled high: Rubbish dominates the streets in Manshiyat naser, or Garbage City
Overworked: The driver of a vehicle which appears to be collecting rubbish clearly has his work cut out against the mass of waste
Trash town: Children play in Manshiyat naser, or 'Garbage City', while surrounded by the enormous sacks of rubbish

Photographer Ilya Stepanov took the pictures to document the lives of the Zabbaleens - a people who have been living among rubbish, and making a living out of recycling it, for generations.

One image shows huge piles of bagged rubbish stacked high in the streets, with most of the piles twice the size of the helpless children stood nearby.

Another shocking image shows dozens of bulging bags teetering over the walls of high-rise apartment buildings, apparently blocking out light and access.

Ilya, from Cheboksary, Russia, said: 'The place stinks and there are myriads of flies.

'It is so hot, everything is rotting, and there is rubbish piled several floors high on every street.

Making do: The locals in 'Garbage City' are said to make a good living out of being surrounded by filth by recycling the huge amounts of rubbish

'But the people there are happy. They have never known anything different than living among the rubbish. 'It's definitely not a place I'd like to stay for a long time - it was difficult to stay a couple of days to take the photographs.

'It often has no running water, sewage or electricity.

'But the people there are so friendly and welcoming - they don't see anything unusual about it.

'The Zabbaleens are Christians, and in Cairo, Muslims don't have much dealing with rubbish, which is why niche was taken by Zabbaleens. 'Besides many hundreds years ago they were not allowed to do anything else, only the most dirty jobs.

Mountains of waste are stacked up around walls of an apartment block in Cairo's Garbage City

'But they make a good living out of recycling rubbish. About half of all the rubbish in Cairo ends up in Garbage City.

'About 85 per cent of it is sorted and recycled by the people there, and then sold on.

'Rubbish is taken to this quarter by big lorries. Then it is taken to houses and yards by smaller cars, on horses or donkeys or in hands, where it is sorted.

'They sort it into piles of used paper, metal, plastic and so on - and make quite a bit of money from it.'

The "Age of Entitlement" is gripping the land

By Paul Glasco

My friend Tom wakes up every day with a chip on his shoulder. Because he isn’t a true “provider” and has no real accomplishments in his adult life, his self esteem is very low. He’ll make you think that he’s in control, but just as he brags about being in control, he complains about how it’s everyone else’s fault that he dropped out of school, drinks heavily, has a beat up car, doesn’t have a job, etc. The truth is that each one of the things he blames everyone else for involves a choice he made at some point in his life. Let me be clear – these are choices HE made.

Tom does not see that he has become a fool. He is actually the perfect fool in the eyes of the government. He is part of a perpetual cycle that exists as the government gives him money to stay home and not work, but only gives him enough to just get by so that he still has something to complain about and feel like a victim. They don’t ever intend to give him more in terms of handouts, but will tell him the other party is the reason they can’t give him more. Then Tom runs out on election day pumping his fist and blindly casts a vote for the very party that schemes and scams to keep him in the very same hole of dependency that he is in today for the rest of his pathetic, zombie-like life with no intention of ever coming through on promises to “give” him more. Tom is, by definition, a fool. He will die a bitter old man with his lazy, tired hand still gripping that same predictable poll booth lever that put him in the rusty old government wheelchair that he whispered his last complaint from.
If I just described you as “Tom”, rather than getting angry at me for being onto your game, why not take control and become a contributor to society rather than a parasite dragging it down. You can wrestle yourself away from the “Age Of Entitlement” that grips you and develop yourself some self-worth.

America’s number of “Toms” is growing at an alarming rate. Our government needs Toms so that they can stay in power. I’d say to pray for our country’s future, but praying alone won’t get us where we need to be. After all, we got here by “hoping” and “changing”. Are you better off today than you were 3 years ago?

Do 10-year-olds go to strip clubs?

My family was at Prien Lake Park (Lake Charles, LA) and our 2 1/2 year old son was playing.  As you can see in the picture in the video below, a kid was playing right near him and kept exclaiming proudly (and loudly) that he was "gone slide down this strippa pole".  The kid appeared to be 10 or 11.

I think it's sad that a 10 year old knows what a stripper pole (strippa pole) is.  Where did he learn that?  School?  A book?  TV?  Home?  Surely not a strip club!  His parents likely to blame?  I'm sure I'll get accused of something for suggesting that no one else is to blame except for the parents.  Here's a quick video with more.

Why Trump can win

By Paul Glasco

I know, you think I'm crazy.  A gazillionaire who's gone bankrupt umpteen times can win the Presidential election?  Well, we currently have an un-vetted fraud in the White House who could - for all we know - be a legal citizen from Pluto.  Why not.

Here's why:

First, Donald Trump's dirty laundry is old news.  We've all heard it already.  Would anything really shock us if we found out the normal scandalous news about him?  We know he likes money, so would shady deals to make a quick buck surprise us?  We know he likes the ladies, so would a "scandal" involving someone other than a wife really shock us?

Second, he really has a great business mind.  If you for one minute don't think the "bankruptcies" he's gone through were done so to benefit him and give him various economic shelters, then I'd remind you that the Easter Bunny will be coming 'round real soon.

Lastly, people believe that he's cares about this country and wants it to be great again.  He speaks of the United States with utter pride and makes no apologies for the fact that we should be the dominant power in all the world, no matter what ANYONE ELSE thinks about us.

I ask you this: compare his experience, leadership qualities, business mind, and love of the United States to our current President, Barack Obama.  Aaaaa, NOW you see what I mean, right?  Obama makes Trump look like he's already President!

U.S. foreign aid is creating a "world welfare" state

On this week's show, we show why foreign aid to so many countries around the world is not helping, but rather hurting countries who receive it. It may also shock you as to which countries actually receive it that many feel don't need it.

What's killing all the birds?

By Paul Glasco

Are you like me - the impatient type who orders something and can't wait until if finally comes in? Do you click the tracking number on your FedEx or UPS order just to see if it's left China yet?

If so, then you know how much it's driving me nuts to not get an answer concerning all these flocks of dead birds that keep falling out of the sky. Not only have I heard from the news media that the occurance that caused the birds to fall out of the sky in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Kentucky "happens all the time", but I've also been told that by a local official in Lake Charles, LA that it "happens all the time".

That's right, forty or fifty birds littered Lake St. in Lake Charles, LA between Gauthier and Tank Farm roads, right next to the airport. Those forty or fifty birds were what was visible in the street. That does not include what fell onto airport property and in the other field across the street. The birds were one species - tree swallows (see picture above).

If that's the case, then why? They act so unsurprised that perfectly healthy birds are falling out of the sky, but no one can EVER give us a definitive answer as to why! I'm not trying to create mass hysteria by bringing this up. I just get a little suspicious when something that receives such massive attention never ends with an answere - good or bad.

U.S. hurts Egypt's efforts...Muslim Brotherhood waiting

The Muslim Brotherhood (father of Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezballah) are licking their chops. I've had some Muslims tell me that Egypt is already 90% Muslim, so nothing will change with Mubarak out. Ah, my naive Muslim sleepwalkers...the Muslim Brotherhood is outlawed in Egypt. They won't be soon and will steal power from good-intentioned people like the thieves in the night they are.

Obama's arrogance knows no boundaries!

By Paul Glasco

For an administration that ran on a platform of promised "transparency" (among others) we don't seem to be given the whole picture by our buddy Barack Obama. Here's an excerpt from the Washington Times:

Last year, we learned that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had granted 111 waivers to protect a lucky few from the onerous regulations of the new national health care overhaul. That number quickly and quietly climbed to 222, and last week we learned that the number of Obamacare privileged escapes has skyrocketed to 733. - Washington Times

Nevermind the lack of transparency, how about keeping the same set of rules for all Americans regardless of who contributes to his campaign! All these people who supported Obamacare are the ones jumping ship. Did they know beforehand that they would get these waivers so they supported it or did they find out afterwards (like Pelosi and the rest) and then begged to be exempted? Either way, it's unlikely myself or anyone I know is eligible for a waiver.

What's even more troublesome is that exposing these types of double standards to the White House doesn't bother them anymore because we've all seen it so many times.

I've spoken to liberals who thought GW Bush was "cocky" because of how he walked. The arrogance of the Obama administration cannot be physically described.

Charlie Rangel's supporters are sheep running over a cliff on gun issues

By Paul Glasco

I responded to the great and honorable Charlie Rangel on his Facebook (I harrass him all the time) concerning his call for gun control. For those of you who don't know, Charlie represents Harlem.

You'll see my post below. Right below mine is a post from one of his supporters, a naive, bleeding heart liberal. I'm not making this up. Check out the ridiculous frame of mind these people wander around with. Scary. (I've added "*" in her name to protect the stupid.)

Here's the exchange:

Paul Glasco
You REALLY want to stop it? Then hammer those who use guns in the act of performing a crime! Let's hand out harsher penalties. Quit trying to take my guns from me. And convince criminals not to use them, if even through the threat of death penalties.

J***** T*****
Paul what you are discussing is after the violence has happened. We are sick of that. We want preventative measures put into place to prevent gun violence. No more harsher penalty talk, we got enough people in prison already and it hasn't helped. Less Guns, Less Violence. Give Peace a Chance...

Paul Glasco
Penalties deter if they are harsh enough. Persons should fear what happens to then if they commit a crime with a gun. My guess is those people in prison would most likely still be there without a single gun in thsi country. I don't think the guns make them have evil, criminal thoughts. If so, then they would be in an asylum rather than prison.

"Crosshairs" is the new 4 letter word!

By Paul Glasco

If we have conditioned ourselves to begin to function as if every sentence we speak needs to be stripped of its flavor and description so as not to offend or provoke one or two thin-skinned crackpots waiting for their turn to lash out at the huge majority of good people in this country, then we are ripe for the picking as far as opposing countries are concerned. Is it time to eliminate adverbs and adjectives and also release a short list of nouns that meet overall approval to reach this goal? Maybe a grammar czar?

The pulse of our country is not from a tiny group of drooling nutcases sitting in a rubber room rubbing peanut butter in their hair waiting for us to slip up in what we say so as to trigger their own predetermined blood bath. As cynical as it seems, sometimes s__t just happens!

This video clip is regarding CNN's apology for using the words "cross hairs". Ridiculous.

ATTENTION: Gun control advocates!

By Paul Glasco

A guy uses a legally-obtained gun for committing a heinous crime and now we want to take guns away from responsible citizens???

There's no doubt guns are used DAILY for terrible crimes across the country. But there are easily obtained statistics that prove that nearly all crimes committed using guns are done so with illegally obtained guns.

Let me ask you a couple simple questions about Jared Lee Loughner:
1. If he was deemed unfit to own a gun (should have been - thanks Sheriff Dupnik) and he was hell bent on committing this crime, don't you think he could easily have gotten a gun illegally? He would have either stolen one (like most illegal gun owners do) or bought a stolen gun.
2. If guns were outlawed altogether and he had these aweful thoughts in his head, wouldn't he have just used a different method to kill or hurt the victims? He would most likely have used explosives or something even more lethal and killed or injured even more people.

We're being a little naive if we think that preventing Loughner from legally obtaining a gun would have prevented this whole crime.

And for all you gun control advocates out there, here's a question for you:

Would you be willing to put a sticker on your car window or the front door
of your house saying 'I am an anti-gun person--there are no guns in this
[car/house]'? (http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/guncontrol.htm)

I'm jsut sayin'...

Obama to ease travel restrictions to Cuba, allow more U.S. cash to island - Cuba - MiamiHerald.com

Obama to ease travel restrictions to Cuba, allow more U.S. cash to island - Cuba - MiamiHerald.com

There has got to be an angle that benefits the White House here. This administration does not arbitrarily make these types of changes without benefitting from it politically. This story is supposed to fly under the radar, but remember it, because at some point you'll see why they're agreeing to this.

Muslims provide us no facts!

Since we posted our video of our discussion on the alleged Muslim bombing of a Coptic Christian church in Alexandria, Egypt, we have been flooded by emails from both Christians and Muslims...with one distinct difference.

Christians from Egypt and all around the world have emailed us many facts surrounding this bombing as well as facts and places to find or confirm these same facts.  However, the only emails we've gotten from Muslims concerning the matter are emails simply saying we are wrong in our assumptions we make in the video discussion.  Vile, hateful, poorly written emails saying we're wrong.  The one thing missing - facts - or even "made up" facts.  Nothing to prove to us that we're wrong.

Once again common sense prevails and we will assume we are - once again - CORRECT.

Thank you very much.

Here's the video in question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lPJf19LgVI
